RP stress!

I have RP I don’t have any history of it in my family. They said it could skip generations. But, I have it if I had known I would never of had children the stress of passing it to them is unbearable. I know have 3 grandchildren to add to my stress. Both my children are in their 30s and don’t even wear glasses. Male and female both just say if things happen they will. But, I can’t live like that my whole world feels like it’s caving in. If I go gene test route it will make things worse knowing for sure that I have given it to them.

Hi @Pinky12 - & welcome to the forum. I have a genetic disorder which I've passed on to my children & 3 grandchildren & they're all fine about it. It sounds like your children are too even if they do develop RP.
This can be passed down in what's called an autosomal dominant way, which means if a parent has this, then there's a 50% chance with each pregnancy that a child may inherit this. Your children therefore may, or equally may not, develop RP, so there's no point in worrying about a possibility which may never happen. Just enjoy your children & grandchildren, as I'm sure you do. My best wishes to you & your family 😊
