Hi can anyone help me please. I live in a Housing Association flat in Bexhill currently. I have lived here for nearly 4 years in February 2025. Recently 3 other tenants have approached me and asked me if i was aware of how a senior manager is treating me. I said no they told me that when she is in my company to watch the way that she acts around me, shes like a curled snake ready to pounce. This I found out for myself recently at a coffee morning. At this meeting I clearly noticed this was the case and decided to leave immediately. It seems to be every year in October/November every year that this one persons sends me emails accusing me of doing or saying things which is not the case. I feel that I am being bullied/intimited by this one person from the Housing Association for the last 2 1/2 years that I can recall. They have threatened me with eviction in the past. I am a 60yr old disabled woman and also severe mental health issues including ADHD and a form of swearing tourettes. All of the managers know about my problems. When this one person started on me before made me a recluse, suicidle and not want to look after myself including eating and washing. She has recently started again with nasty emails. There are also several other residents who have come to me and said she is bullying and harassing me. This is discrimination. I have asked rother council if i can go onto the housing list but they have adviced me that I would have made myself voluntry homless and would not help me in any way. my tennancy aggrement is not with rother council its with the houseing association directly. I NEED HELP QUICKLY please as this is severly affecting my mental health. I am not eating or sleeping through worry

    Hi @mothersday,

I’m really sorry to hear about what you’re going through; it sounds incredibly challenging, and I want to help by sharing some steps you can take.

    1. Report Bullying and Harassment: Document everything—save emails, write down incidents with dates, and note witnesses. Contact your housing association’s complaints team and formally report this behaviour. Check their website for a complaints policy.
    2. Advocate Support: Reach out to Citizens Advice at citizensadvice.org.uk or call 0800 144 8848. They can guide you on addressing the harassment and understanding your rights. You can also contact Shelter at 0808 800 4444 for housing advice.
    3. Discrimination and Legal Support: As you believe this is discrimination due to your disabilities, you can contact the Equality Advisory Support Service (EASS) at 0808 800 0082 for advice on how to proceed under the Equality Act 2010.
    4. Mental Health Crisis Support: If this situation is making you feel suicidal, please speak to someone urgently. You can contact:
      • Samaritans (free 24/7 helpline): Call 116 123.
      • Your GP for a referral to mental health services.
      • Mind at 0300 123 3393 for support and advice.
    5. Rother District Council Advice: While they’ve advised against voluntary homelessness, consider asking for a meeting to discuss your case in detail. Bring documentation of the harassment and its impact on your mental health.

You deserve to live in a safe and supportive environment. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the above services—they’re there to help you.
