so we received a letter about my daughter having to apply for PIP, I have read through the descriptors and is it just me or is this a lot more daunting than DLA??

It’s totally different to DLA. DLA was about day and/or night time care needs. PIP is about the descriptors and you need to score at least 8 points for standard award or at least 12 points for Enhanced. Daily living and mobility are added separately.
It may help to have a read of this before filling out the form.
