better off calculated my transitional protection would be

£1046.50


surely this can’t be right? Working 12.5 hr 11.44 hr and permitted work.. claim before 2012 in support group or no work activity’s?

    If you're claiming UC because of a change of circumstances then you would only be entitled to Transitional Protection if your current benefits include the Severe disability Premium (SDP) and it would not be as much as £1,046/month. I'm not sure what you put into the benefits calculator to get that figure.

    If you're claiming UC because you've received a letter for managed migration then how much TP you maybe entitled to will depend on what your current benefits entitlement is. If your benefits include the SDP then you'll be entitled to TP for that but again it won't be as much as what you've quoted here.

    Permitted work rules do not apply for UC anyway like they do for ESA. For UC you'll have the work allowance, which is £404/month if you're claiming for help with the rent. Any earnings over that amount and your UC reduces by 55p for every £1 of earnings.
