hi, I'm 71 and living in council property, but can no longer manage the stairs, as I have COPD and a heart condition, how do I go about getting a bungalow, please, and advice would be appreciated thank you Jean

The best first step is to contact your Housing Officer for advice.
They may advise you to get a needs assessment based around housing for a transfer/bidding system application, joining a home swapper website etc.
If you are downsizing that will help with your priority.
Some areas don't have many bungalows so you might want to consider a flat. Sheltered Housing is also an option.
