I’m with virgin media on their social plan @ £12.50 a month

It all very much depends what you want from your provider these days. As I'm a big gamer and don't need any other bells and whistles, just low ping and high speeds, I went with Toob which is 800mbps for £25.
MoneysavingExpert has a nice little offers search on their site and there's several "Best broadband provider 2024" articles from trusted sources such as Which coming out now, so it's worth shopping around.

I’m on the essential tariff for broadband only because I’m on UC it’s cheaper.

yeah broadband

Is it just for broadband?
If you’re on UC ring them and tell them you want to go on the essential tariff.

Thank you, everyone, I have haggled with them and got gaming speed 350mbps (which has worked out cheaper than the 240mps from them) for £41 instead of £48 @mth, £2 increase on my current £40 mth
Did not need to cancel in the end, new contract so i will see if they charge me more
You would think they would offer cheaper costs for the Disabled not just low-income
