PIP Extension

Hi,
I received a letter today from DWP saying that my PIP has now been extended until 24th January 2026.
They said they will continue to pay my PIP payments as normal while we complete the review of your claim. We will write to you to you once we have completed the review.
Does this mean I still need an assessment or will they just notify me the outcome by letter or is this just a general letter for extensions?

An assessment may still be needed. This is a standard letter telling you your award has been extended because a decision hasn’t been made yet.

Thanks Poppy I thought it would have been a standard letter

No problem. Yes, I had one exactly the same back in June.
