DLA responsibilities letter but no letter confirming payments.
Hi there,
I was recently awarded DLA after a long wait for my daughter but have only received a ‘my responsibilities’ letter & no actual letter confirming what amount or when this will start being paid.
My UC advisor confirmed she will receive the middle rate but didn’t give me an amount or date when this will be paid each month. I was paid back pay on 28/12 so I’m assuming the first payment will be paid 4 weeks on from this? Any advice would be appreciated as it’s so hard to call them up & hear with an extremely vocal autistic child screaming in the background.
many thanks

DLA is paid every 4 weeks. 28th Dec was a Saturday and payments are not made on a Saturday. They are Monday to Friday. If you received the money owed on that date it’s because your bank released the funds early but payment should have been Monday 30th Dec.
Your first 4 weekly payment is likely to be towards the end of this month.
It’s not unusual for letters to take a couple of weeks.
You can also ring Child DLA to ask what exactly the award was and they will tell you.

thank you. I’m with Barclays & they always release funds on a Saturday when money is due on a Monday. I’ll give them a call when I’m able to. Many thanks ☺️
