Hi, my name is gayle1986! Had my work capacity assessment last week. How long before a decision?
hello I’ve just had my work capacity assessment last week and I was just wondering how long it takes for a decision , and if I’m seated will it be back dated my 1st for note started July 2024 and has been every month since .
thank you

Decision times are up to 12 weeks.
LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods, from the date the first Fit Note was handed in.
No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.
Were your Fit Notes provided without gaps, no backdated notes etc?
What is your assessment period or payment date?
Do you have Transitional Protection on your claim, or claim with a partner who gets LCWRA themselves?
Do you have Carers Element (UC) in your name?
Sorry for all the questions, but they are needed to advise correctly.

Sorry two more questions.
The date your first Fit Note was given to UC?
And was it given within 7 days after reporting your health condition?
I was asking about Carers Element which isn't the same as Carers Allowance.
If you have Carers Element in your name then an award of LCWRA would replace that, as the same person cannot get both.

Thank you 😊
June/July: Partial Assessment Period, not included for LCWRA waiting period.
July/August: AP 1
August/September: AP2
September/October: AP 3
October/November: Eligible for LCWRA element.
So if the decision was LCWRA, you would be eligible for extra money from your November payment onwards. Which is now two months backpay, soon to be three.

You've been given LCW Limited Capability for Work.
This doesn't pay any extra money.
If you feel you meet the criteria for LCWRA
I suggest you appeal the decision.
A local welfare rights organisation can help to advise and support you through the process.
