Interview with Universal Credit
hi I’m new on here. I’m myself last November. I had a thing from Universal Credit asking me to take a picture of myself with my passport and also two months bank statements. I had to keep asking them to send me the link after three weeks they finally did and then I got a message back saying everything was fine and if anything changed financially and I had any money over 6000 to let them know then yesterday I got this i’m so anxious and worried about this. I’m a disabled lady with short-term memory loss as I have a severe brain injury. Also numerous I’m on indefinitely because of my disabilities. I really don’t understand what’s going on. This is making me so anyone else going through this?

The standard process for these checks is to submit evidence then have a telephone appointment.
I don't know why you got that message in between.
UC are doing millions of these checks, I went through one last year and loads of others on the forum have been through one. They are to make sure your payments are correct from a financial perspective.
You'll be asked a series of scripted questions about other potential sources of money, ISA's, PayPal, property, premium bonds etc.
Then questions about some of your banking transactions, which might not appear to make any sense (mine didn't).
I myself (as capital was over £6k on paper) was then asked to submit individual bank statement pages showing my Cost of Living payments.
I've seen others who were asked for PayPal account statements after the call.
Then I had a journal message saying my review was complete and my payments were correct.

thank you that is so helpful like I said I got a message saying everything was fine and now this I have no savings or anything and that’s why I presumed why they didn’t want anything else from me and now this seems very odd stressing me out really badly. I’ve asked other people who I know if they’ve had this where I go to Headway and nobody has been asked for an interview. It’s making me so anxious because of my short-term memory loss so when I ask questions I panic as I cannot remember thank you so much though for your reply.

Hi @mandas this looks to be a review of your Universal Credit to check you're still receiving the correct payment/support. I think it's fairly standard to review people now and again and the documents you've sent is part of the process, and then an interview (in your case) via telephone.
I'm so sorry you're feeling anxious about it. Do you have someone who can support you through the call if needed? The silver lining is it's not too far in the future so hopefully, before you know it, it'll be over and done and you can forget all about it. 🙂

Hi @mandas just letting you know there were two discussions for this, so I've merged them in to one. Might look a little odd when you look at the responses (As I had responded to the other post, before seeing this one 🙂).

Initially they only ask for bank account statements.
They will ask if you have a PayPal account, or pick up on any PayPal transactions from your bank statements.
Sometimes they will then ask you to provide PayPal statements after the phone interview.

thank you can’t understand what they want they have my bank statements and they said everything was okay in my journal and if my circumstances changed and I exceeded six thousand in savings I then would have to notify them and that was it now all of sudden I have this 🤔

A lot of people are getting these reviews, they seem to mostly be at random. I wouldn't consider it as them being suspicious of any wrongdoing or anything like that. I do know it can cause concerns though.
