Yes that's normal and is a standard text. I received one exactly the same back in October. You can ring PIP to ask what that decision was and they should be able to tell you. Even though the text advises you not to ring, it doesn't mean you can't.

I sent my PIP review papers back in September 2024. I haven’t received an acknowledgment, appointment or anything so far…. After seeing this thread it gets me worrying too😒

Yours is a review of an existing claim. They do not send text messages saying you've been awarded when it's a review. The text they send is the text you received. If you want to know what that decision was you can ring PIP to ask them. Otherwise you'll need to wait for the letter.

I received the exact same text as you back in October and was awarded successfully.

There's very long delays for PIP review decisions. Based on hundreds of other threads and my own review you could be waiting anything up to about a year for a decision. Your existing award will continue until that decision is made.

If no decision is made by 35 days before your award is due to end, they will send a letter out to you advising you that your award has been extended for up to 1 year.

@poppy123456 thank you so much for the insight . While it is shocking to hear about the delays , it altleast gives me some assurance that PIP will not abruptly stop after the expiry. My only worry is that I was hoping to invest in a Motability vehicle. If it is extended for just a year, I will not be able to meet their criteria. I always feel that these systems put us at a significant disadvantage.

Do you currently have a motability vehicle? If you do then because you're already a customer you do not need to have at least 12 months remaining on your PIP award to order another vehicle.
