Dr due to call about my pip form?

hi everyone, I’m in the process of renewing my pip (well attempting too) first I got a call from a different company asking questions about my health so they could file a report for the dwp, then I got scheduled a phone assessment, now I’ve just recieved a text saying my GP will call to discuss my pip form… has anyone had this before? I am currently on higher for both and was awarded at tribunal so I havnt been through this before.

My conditions are

Bi-polar

EUPD

ADHD
ASD

Fibromyalgia

Arthritis

Hyper mobility

I was under the impression that given the current the award plus the health conditions listed it wouldn’t be that hard to get the same award going forward given that these conditions arnt ones that will go away, I’m really spiriling with it feeling like I’ll have to fight at court again and lose my mobility car in the process which I rely on daily. Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated

Hi @wills95, while I have not personally heard a GP call to discuss a PIP form it sounds like the GP may be possibly doing a good thing? The DWP may be requesting information from them, but the notes GPs have will not cover exactly how each conditions has an effect on your day to day living. As conditions can have quite a range of effects, each persons symptoms can be somewhat different.

I would say the GP is trying to ensure you have the best chance possible by ensuring their report to the DWP is properly detailed. As the DWP want how the conditions affect your life, not just a list of what the conditions are.

thank you that’s really helpful, I hadn’t looked at it from that perspective but it makes sense so I feel more at ease now, I do feel like the DWP are really fighting to reduce my claim as they seem to be really going through the motions here but hopefully once I chat to my gp his input will be considered in my favour! :)
