Claiming PIP For The First Time

Ive recently applied for PIP and was informed today that a health professional is currently looking at my claim. Any idea how long after that to hear back from them?
Many thanks

I'm afraid it's a case of how long is a piece of string. If an assessment is needed you will be contacted.

Hey @itssnowwhite, that can really change depending on the region you are in. PIP assessments are contracted out by region in England and Wales, and backlogs can differ between them. I have seen some people wait a few weeks, while others can wait some months.

Hi Poppy123456 I claimed pip for the first time which was last year I got a call today from a health assessor, who did an telephone assessment which lasted about 41 minutes. How long does it take till they tell you what you have been qualified for.

The results can take up to 12 weeks to come through.

Hello, I am Hasnaat from Leigh, Greater Manchester. I want to say I claimed for PIP 3 to 4 months ago but I did not receive the payment. When I contact him for enquiries they didn't respond me. And on a telephone helpline just wait for agent. Now you tell me what I need to do.Thanks,
Hasnaat

@hasnaatali scope is an online forum and are nothing to do with DWP. Scope do not allow the use of personal information on the forum to protect your identity. This is a public forum and anyone can see the information you put.
A claim for PIP can take anything up to about 6 months sometimes longer. Most people have assessments for that so you should expect one of those. After that once the assessment report is returned to DWP a decision can take up to 12 weeks. Once the decision is made you will be contacted. You won't receive any payments until a decision is made, if you're awarded you will receive any money that's owed to you first and then your first 4 weekly payment around 4 weeks later.
