Carers allowance

I applied on the 12th of December and received a phone call yesterday just asking me some follow up questions and he said it would be sent to a decision maker that day, I’m just wondering if anyone has experienced the same could tell me how long untill I know I’ve been awarded or not? Thank you

Hello chelsea1999
After your application has been sent to a decision maker, the process typically takes between 2 to 8 weeks.
If you haven’t heard back within 8 weeks, it may be worth contacting the Carers Allowance Unit to inquire about the status of your application.
It’s reassuring that you’ve already had a follow-up call and your application has been forwarded to a decision maker. This suggests that your application is progressing through the system. While it’s natural to feel anxious about the outcome, try to remain patient as the decision-making process unfolds. I hope everything goes smoothly for you!!!1 -
For carers allowance it's up to 12 weeks for a decision. This can be longer if you're claiming certain other benefits as well.

Hey @chelsea1999, welcome to the Scope online community 😊 It can take a few months for applications on carers allowance to be processed. The longest wait is often it getting in front of a decision maker which it sounds like you've now reached that point. Best of luck and let us know how it goes
