Please could somebody help. I currently claim new syle esa (contribution based) and have an assesment soon. My question is…. if i am put into the support group do i stay on esa more than the usual 1 year (i would not migrate over to universal credit as i have some savings). Would i continue to recieve my £81.00 every week as normal until i am assesed again?
Many thanks

Assessment rate ESA is
- £71.70 a week if you’re aged under 25
- up to £90.50 a week if you’re aged 25 or over
If you are put into the Support Group your money will increase to £138.20 weekly (after week 13 of your claim).
There is no time limit for SG so you will continue to receive it as long as you remain eligible.
