Hi Folks
Just a gentle reminder … I haven't had a response to be query.

Hi @Manjinder, there are some disabled people in management positions, especially here at Scope. I'm sure there are also examples of disabled people in management in other companies too.
But I do think that employers have a long way to go and many disabled people do feel looked over when it comes to getting promoted at work. Some of that will be discrimination, some of it might be the lack of support, I think there are few different factors affecting things.
Are you disabled yourself? Have you found that this might apply to you or someone you know?

Hi @Rosie_Scope
Thanks for your reply.
I have right hemiplegia from birth and have always had repetitive admin jobs. Several individuals who were less qualified than myself with far less experience have constantly been promoted and I have consistently been overlooked.
I feel that my disability is the main and only issue, and feel that I cannot do anything about it, which is very annoying and frustrating.

I am in the process of applying for a promotion and very worried that my disability will disqualify me. It's office-based and full-time and right before it was announced I told my boss I wanted to change to home-based and drop my hours. I don't know if that would count as reasonable adjustment for the promotion role. I'd love to know what others have done to get to management level.
