PIP renewal extension

Just had my PIP renewal extended for one year due to the backlogs.
So, I guess they will make that decision at some point during the next year, if they decide to reject and take away, will the payments stop immediately and I have to give my motability car back immediately?
Or will both end as of the extended renewal date they have given me?
Thanks

Hi @vmberks, welcome to the community. I found this information on the Motability website. If the worst does happen you just need to get in contact with them and they will talk through the next steps, it's usually not an immediate thing so you will have some time:
Your support package | Motability Scheme
Fingers crossed it's a positive decision and everything stays stable for you 😊

Your award has been extended for up to 1 year, not for 1 year. Any new decision made on the review will overrule your current award. This means if the worst happens and you're refused your payments will end because there would be no award in place.
Yes, you would need to return your car and motability will be in touch with you. Same would apply if your mobility award is decrease to standard.

Thanks both, the website seems to say that motability give you some time so that is one less thing to worry about if the worst happens.
