UC and cost of living payments

I thought that the cost of living payments were disregarded when on Universal Credit but I told them the total money I have and the bit that’s over £6000 they did deductions even though I had the cost of living payments so I thought that meant I would still be within the £6000 technically because of the cost of living payments being disregarded. Is this right or wrong? Also I gave them my new total straight after my care bill came out which brought me even lower and before my Universal credit started but still being deducted the same amount. Do they read the journal because I’m below £6000 now anyway as my next care bill came out and other usual expenses. When I’ve written my money on the journal they haven’t noticed that before and only went with the total from the original application.

They don't seem to read the journal messages, at least not on my account.
I am now deducting the cost of living payments before declaring the amount. I have written a journal message confirming that, but as with the others, they didn't respond to it, and I have to assume they haven't read it.
In order to change your savings, you should be doing that through the 'make a change' section, not just writing the new figure on your journal.

Oh thank you I didn’t realise that. I’ll put my savings in the make a change section next time.
