New style ESA

Hi i applied for New style ESA last year my doctor has been contacted & I got a letter saying they have received more information & cancelled my assessment saying it was no longer needed last week so I believe they did a paper based assessment. I’ve heard nothing else but got a payment of £231.69 yesterday my payment is normally £181.00. Is this normal I’ve not claimed benefits for years. Thank you

It’s likely that you were placed into the Support Group and that’s the money they owe you. When placed into this group your money increases to £138.20/week from the 14th week of your claim.
It’s not unusual for money to be in your bank before you receive the decision letter.
