UC bank statement upload via Journal.

DWP asked to provide bank statements.
I'll asked to activate link for uploading statements via Journal, but DWP refused because:
"Due to the nature of the information required we are unable to provide a document upload for this and you are required to provide this in the office."
How reasonable to provide paper statements instead of uploading?
Anyone know grounds why DWP won't accept bank statements upload via Journal?

As far as i can tell, you only get the chance to upload via your journal if asked to by the Swindon review team.
The review team seems to have been set up at the back end of last year specifically to seek out excess capital as part of Labour's crackdown on benefit fraud.
Your claim seems to have gone the same way as my son's (i am the appointee) I was called in with physical statements to my local JC once the review team identified that he had excess capital.
Total pain as JC closed his claim and obviously now when they finally get round to asking for all statements going right back, i will need to print them all off as paper statements. His journal is closed.
To my mind, it would've made more sense to have suspended payments but left the claim open so that the upload facility could have been used.
But i think your answer is that - as in my case - it's got to be dealt with by our local team. The Swindon team is not the one dealing with our claims.
They were friendly when i went in with the requested info if that's any help.

No problem. I think if they need lots of statements from you, it is possible to go to your local job centre if you have a banking app and you can upload them there for them to print off.
