LCWRA payments

Hi can anyone help please.
Started getting uc back in July after moving over to it from child tax credits.
Handed in fits notes from July and last one was jan 31st.
I got awarded LCWRA on the 14th February but not sure if I will get back payments or not.
I have my statement for this month and it’s shows a payment for £416 and odd pence.
One more question I get dla for my son and thought I told them when I claimed but for some reason it wasn’t on there reported the change and had a payment for that as well but does that get back dated as well.
thank you for any help.

Hello @jenjen82. For the DLA, what date did you use as the 'date of change' when you reported it?
Regarding LCWRA, if you submitted fit notes continuously, without any gaps between them, and no one else on your claim is already receiving LCWRA, it should be backdated to three full assessment periods after your first fit note.

The dla I put from when I first started uc and no gaps in the fit notes at all, the 3 months is that the very first fit not as that was for 3 months, ran out in October and handed another one in.
so should back pay be from end of October beginning of November ?
thank youSorry this is still all new to me.

LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods from the date the first Fit Note was handed in. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.
What date did you report the health condition?
What date was your first Fit Note?
Were there any gaps in handing in Fit Notes, any that were backdated etc?
Do you claim with a partner who gets LCWRA, have Transitional Protection on your claim or receive Carers Element in your name?
Finally what is your UC assessment period or payment date?
For the Disabled Child Element of UC yes it can be backdated to when you first claimed UC. They might be calculating the back pay as it takes several weeks at least to do so.
If this is granted you will receive a letter like this:
In the meantime you could put a note on your Journal asking if backpay is being looked at.

health condition was reported as soon as I started to claim up which was back in July, had my assessment in February and got a note in my journal on the 14th February to say I’ve been awarded.
first fit note was 30th July.
have not got a partner.
no gaps with fit notes and assessment period is from 24th -24thI have asked.
thank you0 -
So would be be backdated from my 2nd and 3rd fit note ?

If you can say the actual date you applied for UC, and what date you usually get paid, your waiting period and money owed can be estimated.
Your assessment period as written isn't correct, so I've asked for the payment date instead.
I also find it easier working with a payment date when I do the calculation 😊

hi
First sick note handed in 26th July
Start of uc claim 24th June
Payment date is 30th every month
Thank you

My estimate would be:
July/August: AP 1 (as you provided the first Fit Note within 7 days at the beginning of your assessment period)
August/September: AP 2
September/October: AP 3
October/November : Eligible for LCWRA element.
30th November: First LCWRA element paid
Up until today by my calculation you are owed 3 months LCWRA element. If it's not on your next statement then 4 months will be owed.
Money owed will be calculated separately and this usually takes several weeks at least.
You'll know this has been done as a letter will be added to your Journal confirming the amount they owe you.
You'll then receive the money into your bank account several working days later.
Benefit backpayments are excluded from calculating your capital from 12 months.
