LCWRA ELEMENT AND WORK

Hi,, I have the LCWRA element and I'm receiving UC, but I'm thinking of going back to some sort of work for a few hours a day 4 days a week which would be 14.5 hours per week, when I had to leave my job last Apr due to my health condition I only was claiming UC , but a few people have told me I should have been claiming ESA but I didn't bother because it would still amount to what uc award was, but now I'm getting increasingly depressed and my mental health was never an issue but now I'm feeling really depressed and getting thar way I'm feeling I'm not wanting to interact with anyone anymore except family. I was approached by an old employer and was asked if I'd like to do some light work a for a few hours each day. Am I able to do this on UC LCWRA element and if so how do I go about it.?

Regards D

    Yes.

If you start working you'd report the change via your UC Account.

Financially the first £404 (if claiming Housing Element) or £673 (without HE) will be yours to keep.

The standard UC deduction of £0.55 for every pound won't start until you earn over the applicable amount.
