Struggling to find information on UC stuff

I have been trying to find this information, can't find anything either way, asking people got confusing information, final attempt!
I overpaid British Gas, and now have a chunk of credit on the account. Is this something that UC would care about, as savings or capital? I can't find any information either way and it doesn't seem clearly either.
Anyway, sorry for filling the forum with panic! Hope everyone's ok!

I don't know for sure and i have never seen anyone asked about this but my own personal view (bearing in mind i am not connected to DWP in any way and have no insider knowledge) is yes.
Because - technically - if you are in credit you are legally entitled to get that money refunded. So it is available capital. That makes logical sense to me but don't take it as gospel!

My view is it does not count as savings, there is also precedence of that, as an example the Ofgem law that prevents liability from further than 12 months back, doesnt apply to account credit, as its considered money already paid to the supplier. Of course if the money was ever refunded, then it would be savings.
