Hi!
Just wanted to know what is classed as income for NS ESA? I understand normally working PAYE & Self Employment is. However with other payments (listed below) please can someone explain if regarded as income for NS ESA purposes, as there seems to be no guidance that I can find anywhere online.
Other income:
- Tax Rebate
- Interest from Savings
- Help to Save Savings
- Inheritance
- Family Income (eg Parents pay NS ESA Claimant bills etc)
- Unearned income
Thank you!

New Style ESA is a contributions based benefit, so nothing on your list would generally have any affect on the claim.
The only other thing that would matter is a pension.

Thanks Kimmy,
I thought so! However a family who is also on NS ESA has just had their claim stopped due to an inheritance payment, so it is making me question what is classed as income.
