Carers Allowance and Private Pension

Hi was wondering if you could help me I get Carers Allowance for my son and I have a small amount in my private pension £8000 I want to left this as a Lump sum and use for luxuries Will this affect my Carers Allowance ??Is the lump sum classed as income??I earn £6000 a year in my part time job 😀

I know private pensions aren’t taken into account for carers allowance but I’m not sure about the lump sum aspect

However a quick google seems to imply it won’t make any difference to claiming carers allowance as it’s not earned income but it might be worth ringing them get to get official confirmation
