Hi, struggling with living alone after my ex moved out

I've been living with my ex, I've been out of work he was paying the rent and bills. It's really expensive living here, UC and PIP barely cover my rent and bills.
I'm not good with money, I have a learning difficulty that makes it hard for me to understand money. I have adhd too which doesn't help me being impulsive and just spending all my money. I also have mental health issues and other conditions. I've not been able to work.
My ex told the agency I rent from he's moved out and they said if the contract goes in my name only the landlord would probably want to do affordability checks. I had previously fallen behind on rent while my ex was here.
I spoke to the council they just told me i need to move to a shared accommodation. Then hung up. I lived in them before I couldn't cope I couldn't handle living with others or the noise.
I found it hard at times even with my ex but he helped me a lot and did try make things easy for me

Hi @S2025, welcome to the community. Sorry to hear about your situation, that must be tough.
It might be worth having a discussion with a local housing adviser to see if they can help you work out what might be best for you to do next: Advicelocal have a directory to find local advisers.
You could also try Citizen's Advice, they can often help you get in touch with other local support agencies or provide general advice on what to do.
It's a tough one as housing lists are quite long and it's not always easy to find places when you're on benefits. If you do find at any point you're at risk of becoming homeless, Shelter are there to help:
Do you think you'd manage a shared house if it was quiet or with a smaller amount of people? Some shares I've lived in have been really peaceful, it can depend a lot on who else is in the house. I'd totally understand if that's not an option, though. Not everyone can cope living with others.
Hope you're able to find some solutions soon
