Access to my Gateway

Hello people
I hope I've done this properly and I'm in the right place, I'm confused where to post ! Thank you to the people who answered my last query.
I am always confused as I have a cognitive problem, sorry
But can someone help me with this gateway thing. I spent hours trying to make one, I uploaded my driving licence, scanned both sides, then a selfie, then they scanned my face and still couldn't get into my account ? So I rang the Gateway department, and explained I couldn't get in and he said "you won't get in" but he would not tell me why ? He told me to ring this other dept who sent me my working dates and that's all . Am I right in thinking that I'm entitled to get into my own business or not? Some said I should do a freedom of information request? Can someone help me here, I'm just so confused by it all. Thankyou

Are you talking about the Government Gateway site?
If you are, that can be a tricky one to register with if you have a cognitive problem as it times out if you're not quick enough.
I would recommend you have someone sit with you to guide you through it that is computer savvy.
When my son set one up, (or, rather, i set it up for him) he doesn't have a driving licence and didn't want to do the face thing so he used a passport and answering security questions.
I guess you don't have a passport but you could do the driving license and questions (rather than the face scan) and see if you have more luck.
The questions were things like "how long have you lived at your current address" " how many years have you held a bank account"
And there were multiple choice answers for each question. About 4 questions i think.
You also need to verify a code received to your mobile so it is much easier if you can set it up using a tablet or computer and then have your phone close by to get the code.
Rather than switching screens on your phone, possibly losing the Gateway screen as you check your code.

Thank you Anisty.
Yes I do mean the gov gateway. The man who told me "you won't get in" meant I won't get in,he was very abrupt with me. And I had got my number as well at this point. I said I had spent hours trying before I rang the gateway help dept !! And I had done everything, the whole gammit, I do have a passport but it's well out of date. No, I think he was being right up front when he said I wouldn't get in.. does anyone have any advice about the freedom of information request?? I feel they want to hide my information from me, and we are meant to be able to see it aren't we?
