HI to all
Hi there,
Well I have Run out of Clear Film for My Superpubic Catheter they do not Supply Enough for me to use for long enough.
And I am in Servre Pain Aswell.
I have had to Use Cling Film to Cover my dressings the only thing I could think of to use that I had at Home.

Hi Amazingblazing,
Just seen your post. Sorry to read that you are continuing to have problems with your supra pubic catheter.
I'm not sure which tape you are referring to for use around the catheter exactly but suspect that it is similar to the tape used around other stoma sites, which I understand is better than relying on clear plastic film but since domestic cling film is available to you; although less than ideal should add some security, providing it does not become saturated which will lead to increased sores etc…. Perhaps you can ask your Urology Nurse Specialist (if you have one) or Continence Service provider to advise you where you can obtain the correct covering for your site and will (hopefully) minimise your risk of increased local infection and skin irritation. I am unsure now, since many things have changed since I worked in the Community but thought it may be worth some consideration. We were encouraged to dissuade patients from using dressings around stoma sites because of the increased risk of infection and further damage to surrounding skin. There are also water resistant creams / clear film products available for such a purpose.
I sincerely hope that you can find a solution to your problem to reduce your suffering, prevent further skin damage around stoma site but also reduce further risk of developing infections. All of which, you could do without! Maybe some of this will be of benefit to you. Take care and "Good luck" with finding a more suitable, longer term solution.

Hi to all,
I just don't understand why the district nurses changed the size of my catheter it was a size 12 when I had it done it's now a size 18 and I am still leaking it's Ok they don't have the Problem do they.
I just give up supposed to help people just make things worse.
