PIP renewal and new criteria

Hi - son is waiting first review for pip in May. Appreciate there is a backlog.
Just want to check the new advice (as per The Times paper and Govt. Green Paper).

He scored 4 in one activity last time and nothing has changed, so am presuming he'll still be eligible for standard Daily Living needs:
"In future, ministers will require applicants to score at least four points on at least one activity to qualify..Those who score four points on these tests would require another four points for the lower rate of payment, and another eight points for the higher rate. The changes are expected to slow the rise in claims for mental health problems, which has contributed to a surge in PIP recipients."
I'm not sure whether to rewrite his review application in light of the new harsher criteria to re-emphasise the activity he scored 4 points on as that's the dealbreaker to be assessed - without a 4 pointer or above in at least one question/activity he'll be rejected under new assessment.
He has epilepsy which should still be covered re: conditions.
However he also has autism and anxiety and - although both diagnosed and anxiety medicated and has impact on his life - I understand these are now out of scope for pip and will be stopped to help reduce cost to govt and taxpayer.
Appreciate any advice on redoing the application. Thanks in advance

    The Green Paper hasn't been published yet.

    Any changes to criteria will take a long time (years) to come into affect, if ever.

    A Green Paper is only stage one of the long legislative process and what eventually becomes law is usually a watered down version of the Green Paper.

    Any reviews are done under the current criteria and it will be that way for some time.

    Hi @Julia21, @Kimmy87 is right with what they've said. And we can't rely on what has been shared in the media as definitive. We'll only know the true intentions when the green paper is released but this then has to go through a robust process before it is put into place.

    I can completely understand why you're thinking about this at this point, doing the review. But it will be processed in line with the current rules. 🙂
