Hi, my name is aiddjoy! My partner who has Alzeimers, and I'm her carer, had a PIP claim, sorted out

My partner who has Alzeimers, and I'm her carer, had a PIP claim, sorted out by her sister inlaw, some years ago. We want to get a Notability car, our one has died. We wish to change the apointee, as she won't send the pip letter to us. Now stuck

Hi @aiddjoy, welcome to the community. Sorry to hear you're struggling with your partner's Motability car and PIP claim.
Are you on good terms with her sister in law at all? Have you already enquired with PIP about removing her as the appointee and adding yourself instead? Scope have a page about removing an appointee that you might find useful:
Removing an appointee | Disability charity Scope UK
You'd need to contact PIP via the enquiries line to get started, but if you've already done this and are stuck from there, it may be worth getting in contact with a benefits adviser to see where you stand. Advicelocal have a directory to search in case you need to speak to someone.
Hope you can get things sorted soon.
