Final migration deadline

hi if you miss your deadline on your migration notice but then claim before your final deadline when does the claim start from? does it start from the day you make the claim after you have missed your deadline day? or does it get backdated to the deadline on your migration notice? or does it just get backdated for transitional protection to be included in your claim but you don't get it backdated for the actual start of your claim?
