Hi, my name is Armyvet22! Trying to close my UC, but have been asked to go to an interview.

Dear all, I have tried to close my UC claim without success, I decided to take my pensions early as we were really struggling financially. I informed UC of the amounts and dates I received my pension lump and monthly payments. UC now want me to attend a further evidence interview.. All I want is to close my claim. Do I need to attend this or can I send in stuff they are asking for 3 months bank and savings details. I am a disabled gent who cannot leave the house without help. The thought of attending this interview has filled me with dread because of the physical pain, travel and distress this will cause. Any help, advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Hi @Armyvet22, welcome to the community. Sorry to hear that this is proving so difficult, that's really frustrating.
When you tried to close your UC claim, what happened?
I've not experienced this myself but having read up on it, it seems that sometimes they want to look at a claim and all the details of the change in circumstances before it's closed to ensure everything is correct and the money side of things is balanced. By that I mean checking that you don't owe them anything and they don't owe you either.
If you need to attend the interview, could you perhaps pop a message in your journal about it to see if they could do it in a more accessible way? They might be able to do things over the phone if you're not able to attend in person.
Hope you can get things sorted without too much more stress!
