I'm sorry you're having these problems it's awful and especially not being able to afford pads, they're expensive and just not affordable on benefits.

I don't know if you've heard of Bladder and Bowel UK a charity they helped me a couple of years ago.

I eventually got prescribed pads from the Bowel and Bladder service at my NHS or rather Community service. The doctor was not going to allow it/delayed it and wanted my gastroenterologist to decide but I was on a 57 week waiting list to see her so i kicked up a major fuss and now get deliveries every 3 months.

I would think a social services needs assessment would refer you but can your GP not refer you to your local bowel and Bladder service? I had to have a detailed assessment with the Bowel and Bladder service but it was on the phone, c 1 hour appt. I do hope you can get a referral to them ASAP. Very best of wishes to you and take care.

In my area you can self refer to Bladder & Bowel 😊

Social services can also signpost for help with PIP appeal, or if you feel up to it search via this link

Ps the IBS Network, a charity, have been helpful with me (depends on your diagnosis but they give advice if they can) and have a helpline too. @charl1980

Sorry @charl1980 theres also Bladder Health UK, they're a charity in Birmingham and also have a helpline.

The other one I mentioned Bladder and Bowel UK are in Manchester, they usually have an answerphone on but they always ring back, often not same day but within a few days.
