Benefits and Uni

I'm currently on PIP until 2026/7 (cant quite recall when its up for renewal). I am also wanting to do a foundation degree. I don't think until next year in 2026. I'm also in reciept of UC with LCW and some transitional protection from ESA. I just wondered what occurs if I started a Uni course with PIP - so allowing me to continue recieving UC - and I lost PIP after starting the Uni course or when it comes to reapplying for student finance in the 2nd year and I no longer had it.
I'm just thinking about the changes that Labour want to bring in regarding pip. Ive been in recipet of DLA/PIP for 15 years but not sure I'd score 4 points in one descriptor.
I would not be able to do the course without help from UC. Ive no family and live on my own. The 2nd year of the course is placement so I can't get the maintaince loan either for that year.

Hi @Mory and a warm welcome to the community!
Disabled Students Helpline may be able to advise with a more specific answer if you're unable to find the answer on the community. There is also disabled students allowance which sounds like you would meet the criteria for and this helps cover costs related to disability while studying.1
