Uc advance amount?
Hi what would the sort of advance for uc amount I could get single over 25 and in esa support group currently switching to uc

Hi @krj991 sorry for the delay in responding. I believe this is a value up to your expected UC estimated payment value. Did you manage to get this sorted in the end? It'd be good to know how you got on in case someone asks in future if you're happy to share.

I was looking at this on behalf of the person I'm helping migrate from legacy to UC.
The wording on the website says:
If you will not have enough money for things like rent, food, gas or electricity until then, you can apply for an advance.
You'll have to pay it back a bit at a time from future Universal Credit payments. If you stop getting Universal Credit, you will still have to pay it back. For example, by deductions from your wages.
It appears claimants are not permitted an advance if it's simply to allow them to continue to quaff on Champagne 🙄, or even buy a birthday gift for their child etc. etc. etc. 😡
