ESA CB and Council tax benefit now only 50%

back in February i was asked to provided an up to date bank statement of my savings which i did £6300 ….
when my council bill for this year dropped i was been asked for the full amount (£2054) because savings above £6K now rule out any council tax benefit as opposed to previous years where the limit was £16K
my savings have now dropped to just over £5K so i submitted the change and have received a revised bill but i am only eligible for a 50% reduction as opposed to 75% in previous years because ESA is counted as income ….
so basically in previous years my council tax bill has been circa £500 and this year it's doubled to just over £1K …..
labour the government that just keeps giving ….
or should i say taking !

This isn't the Labour Government, Council Tax Reduction is decided upon at a local level, each local authority decides what scheme they use, set their own rules and are free to make changes to the level of help given.

regardless of who is to blame surely it can't be correct when UC deducted ESA on your monthly satement

With UC ESA is deducted because you can't be paid twice for the same thing. You still receive the ESA payments into your bank account.
UC is run by DWP/Government who make the legislation for payment.
Council Tax Reduction is run by each individual local authority. It's they who decide on the scheme rules.
One has nothing to do with the other.

i understand the reason for uc deducting it but let's say i didn't receive esa ….
financially i'd receive the same amount each month but my council tax bill would £500 with the 75% deduction …. as it stands it'll be £1K with the 50% deduction so leaving me £500 a year worse off …. this can't be right or am i missing something

I don't disagree with your logic, but as I keep saying those are the rules set by your local authority for Council Tax Reduction.
Central Government have nothing to do with what different areas do for CTR.
