review bank statements

hi i have just had my review over phone from uc, they asked me to upload photo id me holding it which i did and 4 months of bank statements for each account i have done this but not the account i get paid into my other account im bit worried as my son owed me £6250 from 2013 he only started paying me back last may his last payment of £650 was paid last month but obviously since may 2024 ive had one payment of 400 the rest have been for 650 i wasnt claiming benefits bk then and it was money i got left from when my dad passed away, because i suffered very bad anxiety at the time to the extent i only ever went out if i had to and then someone had to go with me so i withdrew the cash from bank and kept it in a safe at home thats why i paid my son in cash at the time, he only started paying it back last yr as he ended up going bankrupt and had a lot of issues ect long story, but now im worried about what uc will say about these payments do you think there will just say i will have to pay them some cash back because of these payments? plz help im going bonkers here lol

Hi,
As long as those payments haven't put you over the £6000 lower savings threshold at the end of each period then there won't be any problem from a savings point.
They probably will question those payments in terms of income as they are unusual, but just explain as you have here that it's an old debt being repaid. They will not be counted as income in that circumstance so again there is nothing to be paid back in terms of income either.
