Hi, my name is ray1974!

hi. I’m really confused can any one help.
my husband just got awarded full limited capability for work element. It was supposed to be back dated 5 months. But according to them they keep the back dated money, not only that we haven’t benefited from 1p of this money, as they said when they moved over from income support to uc they applied a top up so I wouldn’t be worse of, so when he got awarded lcw they took that top up and replaced it with the lc, but the amount of universal credit for a married couple is 635.00 roughly, that is what everyone gets and that is all I have ever had.im so confused it’s making my head spin
Please help

Transitional Protection is added if your total UC award is lower than legacy benefits at the time of transfer.
It is reduced when any new elements are awarded such as LCWRA.
If TP exceeds the LCWRA amount then you won't see any changes financially.
Prior to the LCWRA award, what elements were on your statement and how much were they for?

Hi @ray1974 I can see Kimi has already leapt to your aid here and I don't want to get in the way, I just wanted to pop in and give you a warm welcome to the community.😊
