I wonder if anyone knows if these awards are being proposed on, or changing within these benefit cuts and changes with this green paper…..

I know normal awards for PIP will be affected by the 4 point daily living rule for award reviews and new claimants if this passes into law from November 26.

If you or anyone can or could help I would be very grateful. Peace and solidarity to everyone that these proposed plans will effect, we can fight back make sure you fill in the green paper consultation and share all your concerns we need people power if we are to do this❤️

This below is the only thing from the green paper everything else seems mute ⤵️

"Improving communication with people receiving an ongoing award in PIP who are likely to remain on disability benefits for life

168. In the current system, people receive an ongoing award in PIP if the impact of their health condition or disability is not likely to change in the long-term, or if they have the highest level of award and the impact of their condition is only likely to get worse.

Ongoing awards can be given at any award level in PIP.

169. Most people with ongoing awards are not formally reassessed. Instead, they have a

'light touch' review every 10 years which aims to maintain a minimal level of contact with people to ensure their details are kept up to date and adjust awards if necessary.

  1. By providing PIP awards for an ongoing period, we remove the need for people whose conditions are unlikely to improve to undergo more regular award reviews. Yet we still hear that people with lifelong and progressive conditions are concerned they are being put through unnecessary repeated assessments.
  2. We are considering making changes to improve communication around receiving ongoing awards in PIP. These include improving the information we provide when we write to people about ongoing PIP award decisions, what support is offered to people receiving ongoing awards between 'light touch' reviews and reviewing the length of time between 'light touch' reviews.

Hi @Government_needs_reform thank you for sharing this, and loving the punchy username! Like you expressed in your video, you're not alone with these concerns. Following the initial green paper release, we have now entered a consultation period (until 30th June 2025) which allows us an opportunity to push back and have our say. I have added a link for this, and a few other links where you can help support us stand up to these proposals.

We also have a longer discussion on the proposed changes members are joining which you can find here: Green Paper Discussion

@Holly_Scope Thanks for the lovely reply❤️ These cruel cut's must be stopped no question…

Glad you like my username iv'e had it for years when I joined scope 7 years ago, it was the right username when the Tories was in power, now it's a Labour government with Kier Starmer and co I feel it still also now reflects Labour in this day and age👍

As for the video I did under Jeremy Corbyn as he wanted to help everybody in all walks of life and being involved in this was a big turning point. He was the PM we never had.

As for campaigning I do lots of this on other websites and understand what's going on with these cut's, I was hoping to find out if PIP ongoing awards will be affected as the green paper gives very little information? I get asked lots of times will this affect my ongoing award and some have only had them a few years.

Any info this will help me answer their questions.
