UC statement change Housing Benefit May 2024

hi
has Anyone else had a random Statement change for May 2024 - reducing your housing benefit? We have discovered today that on the 28th of March this year UC have amended our statement and we now have a debt of £240 as they have reduced our housing benefit for that month, they have not informed us it was just by chance be we found it as in our UC statement this month it is showing a debt to be paid back. Calling UC and nobody can explain why and they have asked us to do a Mandatory Reconsideration which I have done but it’s very tricky when you haven’t actually had a letter or call or journal note to say they have amended the May 2025 statement . Just wondering if anyone else has had similar ?

Hi @Martin2019, I'm afraid I haven't been through this myself so I hope someone in the community might be able to offer their experiences here.
You could try putting a message on your journal to see if they can explain the reasons for your housing benefit change. The people with access to your journal might be in a better place to see all your information and give you some clarity on the situation.
Hope you get some answers soon and it all gets sorted!
