Lcwra, carers element

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help me understand.
My daughter receives DLA and we get the disabled child element for her.
I get LCWRA and my partner gets pip. He qualifies for LCWRA but because we're in a joint claim only one of us can claim it.
I enquired about the carers element on my journal but was told that because we both qualify for LCWRA neither of us can claim as our daughters carer, I'm getting conflicting information online so wanted to check if anyone here knows if this is correct?
Thanks

That is incorrect, the maximum entitlement for a couple is
1x LCWRA
1x Carers Element
So whoever isn't named as getting LCWRA on the claim should be entitled to Carers Element.
The same person cannot get both as only the higher financial amount is paid.
For the person not getting LCWRA, Carers Element is the higher financial amount and should be payable.

Thank you, I thought that was the case. I will ring the main office on Monday and see if I can get it sorted
