Hi I have my tribunal next week and am in a right pickle and panicking that they will take points away. I have been reading online that the tribunal can take points away. I have only appealed certain things as was happy with the points given on some of them. Will the points remain the same even though i didnt appeal them

sorry im so scared now

Hi @mellieg11 - please try not to worry. A tribunal will listen to what you say, &, if they feel that they would reduce your award, then they will let you know on the day (sometimes beforehand), & give you the opportunity to then not proceed with your tribunal. You would then still have the current award that the DWP had decided upon.

You are essentially having everything looked at again, a fresh start, & they're totally separate from the DWP so just want to know the difficulties you face in attempting/doing an activity 'reliably.' Please see the section on 'Reliability' here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/personal-independence-payment-assessment-guide-for-assessment-providers/pip-assessment-guide-part-2-the-assessment-criteria#reliability-1

Glad chiarieds could help put your mind at ease a little @mellieg11! Hope your tribunal goes well and you get the result you're hoping for 😊 Please let us know how you get on if you feel up to it afterwards.

    Best of luck!

Thank you so much. its all so much to take in. I already have standard daily living and lower rate mobility but have appealed both after putting in a change of circumstances they awarded me the exact same. using the fact i drive a manual car as the excuse for not giving points on many descriptors. I drove about 3 times a week no further than 2 miles as i rarely leave the house. I feel they were very unfair and hope that the tribunal will understand more the struggles i have daily.

    Thank you for your replys

Hi guys so i just had the tribunal and i have no idea how it went. The doctor got annoyed with me as i didnt understand his questions and could barley here him. they even got him a new microphone and it was no better. They hardly asked me any questions at all and didnt refer to any of the bundle i submitted. To me that indicates they already new the outcome they just wanted to confirm a few things. Maybe

They said i will get a letter by end of next week but i keep looking on the website and its down… typical As soon is i hear i will keep you updated. Hope you all have a lovely weekend
