Family don't knowledge me anymore

Hi, all.

My birthday is tomorrow and feel sad and hurt.

As I don't think my sisters, aunts ect are going to bother at all.

I know it's tomorrow, but just got a horrible feeling they can't be bothered to wish me a happy birthday.

None of them wished me a Happy Easter, I message one of my aunts yesterday to say I hope she had a lovely Easter and nothing back.

They didn't bother when I had my son last year neither.

I am always the one to contact them first.

I live in Leicester and they live in Scotland and they haven't seen me for 3 years since I have been disabled.

So sorry to hear that. Some people are so thoughtless. Or perhaps there are difficult things going on that you don't know about? I tend to think everything is my fault but sometimes, it's just life's stresses getting to other people so that their communications are not what I hope for.

Hoping things change in the future and bridges can be built, for the sake of your little one too. All the best, A x

Thank you for all your lovely birthday messages tomorrow.

I try to not to worry but it does hurt a lot I feel unwanted or cared about. One of my sisters said to me out of sight out of mind a while back. I have always been there for them and drop everything before I was disable.

I am planning tomorrow to go in my garden with my pa and my kids to plant some beautiful flowers as I love being outdoors and can't get out much as I am in a wheelchair but I get very fatigue with my disability.

Then later on when my oldest finishes work we are going to watch a film at home and order some food.

So I will have a lovely day with my little family. Just hurts my family in Scotland don't really bother apart from one aunt and one cousin.

I lost my mum 14 years ago and my dad over 2 years.

Yeah maybe they are just tie up with their family's but they bothered with each other over Easter as I asked my brother how he was. My best friend has done more help and been there than my family up north.

Plus we haven't fell out, so I am starting to think have I done something wrong? Or is there something worrying with my family up north if there ill? Only two things I can think is since my dad died as I was in charge of the funeral and they didn't like it even tho they was all involved and I couldn't make to one of my sisters wedding because I would of struggle on the train.

@sparkleapril It's such a shame about how your family have turned, so understandable how you feel about that.

But a lovely plan you have set for your special day tomorrow with your little family, sure you will enjoy yourselves together, and nice memories of that to look back on.

You said you helped them and they choose not to contact you. Well, I hope that you will decide to choose and focus on your own family as it sounds like you have a very nice day planned for tomorrow with them. Just because people are related to you doesn't mean they will be there for you. Blood means nothing, actions do. Wishing you a better last day of being XX age and a very great day tomorrow! Hope the weather is good for your planting and if it isn't, well, rain helps gardens stay green doesn't it!

Yeah not nice my sisters ect not bothering just got to stop worrying about others that can't be there for me and focus on who is and enjoy with my little family.

Just don't understand my sisters ect sometimes. As I love them to bits. I might hear from them. If I don't and when they next phone me with their problems I will say sorry but I have enough of my own.

Its meant to be raining tomorrow but if it does I will do the planting indoors as putting my beautiful flowers 🌸🌺🌻🌹🌷🌼💐in plant pots as be easier for me.

My dad loved his garden bless him up there. Garden reminds me so much as a child with my dad in the garden.

Sometimes it's not always a blessing to have family when they don't treat you right as mine don't!

I am very fortunate to have a close partner and children no one else matters to me like they do

Concentrate on those that are around you that do care and have a lovely birthday whatever you decide to do! ❤️

Hi Sparkleapril,

Happy Birthday! for today, St. George's Day. Although, I guess if you are Scottish it's the incorrect Patrion Saint to share a special day with?

It must be very distressing for you to think that your distant family choose to 'forget' your Birthday but it seems to occur more frequently these days, family don't see each other due to distance or just because they have busy lives and aren't close as perhaps they once were. To be fair, my two brothers and sister usually remember to send cards and often text or phone more than my own son's do who both live a lot closer!

It is quite sad, that often families loose touch for whatever reason, it just appears to be like that. However, if you have plans for a nice meal and perhaps some closer friends may contact you to wish you a "Happy Birthday!

I hope you can manage to have a lovely day regardless! Happy Birthday!

Thank you all for all my lovely birthday messages yesterday and the day before it means a lot so thank you.

It stopped raining so I managed to plant some beautiful flowers🌸🌺🌻🌹🌷🌼💐 and my oldest built me a fire pit and then had a nice food but it made me a little I'll as had to much msg in it, so resting today.

My 1st sister message me this morning at 1am to say she was sorry she didn't text and asked if I had a nice birthday and she will send me cards. But I don't know how to respond to that because I am still really hurt. And my other 3rd sister didn't bothered at all. My other 2nd sister and brother did tho.

My 1st sister never forgets. Last year I spent 30 each on her six kids for their birthdays and a Easter hamper. She didn't get any of my kids a birthday card, or a baby card when my 4th baby was born. So she said sorry so I said ok but I am only sending cards this year so I started to send cards and then she missed again two of my childrens birthdays so I thought no more. So I said I was going to stop it maybe that's why she hasn't wished me a happy birthday, she even asked me for money to lend a day before her daughters birthday and I said sorry I can't.

My 2nd sister who wished me a happy birthday I said thank you. But she said sorry I have been to busy to message you. I haven't spoken to her since December. They all know I am disable in a wheelchair and get very tired but a nice message to ask how I am would be nice. Before I was disable I dropped everything for them 7 hours on trains. That's why it hurts. I don't give or help to get back but why are some families so selfish these days. I love them all to bits.
