Hi, my name is beckaboo84! When would we expect to have our payments added on?

Hi π
Im soo sorry this is going to be a very long winded post but I'm just trying to get some help and understanding about limited work capability.
My partner was always on esa but when we got together we got put on universal credit which then he was on limited work capability he was due an assessment in 2020 but because of covid they didn't do assessment and they dropped the payment down to Β£143 until he had an assessment we finally got an assessment in 2024 which even though we provided medical evidence that he has stage 1 deteteriation in his bones and modic change in his spine (he had plates put in his back but his bones are crumbling they can't operate because there's nothing to attach) they refused his claim and told him he's fit for work they kept sending us appointments etc which he really struggled to get to. so we went back to the doctors and they put him on sick again so we had an assessment again and now they have awarded it to him the they said we have been awarded from 17th January 2025 but we still haven't had it added on or know what's going on so if anyone could help as to when payments start etc because the people on the phone are frying my brain and I don't understand π thankyou for reading any help would be amazing π

Hi @beckaboo84, welcome to the community. Sorry to hear about all you and your husband have been through trying to get his UC sorted, that must have been frustrating. It can be a confusing system but I hope we can help answer your questions.
In the new assessment, was your husband put in the Limited Capability for Work and Work-Related Activity (LCWRA) group? If it is just LCW (Limited Capability for Work), there are no extra payments.
If you're expecting a payment for LCWRA there is usually a wait of three full assessment periods until it starts to be paid so that may explain why nothing has appeared yet. What date did your husband submit the fit note about his condition? When are your assessment periods and payment days?
Hopefully we can help work out when the first LCWRA payment will be due βΊοΈ

Hi Rosie
Thankyou soo much for replying it has been a nightmare and very frustrating I still don't understand why they refused him in 2024 because he's just been getting worse with movement and always in constant pain, but because they made the process so long we could not ask for reconsideration because the month expired
But the first fit not went in on 20th January 2025
He had his assessment on 22nd of March and we get uc on 30th every month and he has been awarded LCWRA
Thankyou so much for helping π

My estimate would be:
December/January: Partial Assessment Period, not included for waiting period.
January/February: AP 1
February/March: AP 2
March/April: AP 3
April/May: Eligible for LCWRA element
May 30th: First LCWRA element paid.
This assumes Fit Notes were provided to UC without gaps- it's the date they are given to UC that counts, not the start date written on them.
