Helping my adult daughter

Hi. I've a phone review on Monday. My only income is uc and lwrca. I help out my daughter each month with roughly £50. I never thought i had to tell uc. She's an adult and not living at home im desperate for advice please.

Family and friends exchanging money is a normal part of life. Such a small amount won't be a problem. If they ask, just be honest with them.

Over a year it's been 1300 all together but I stopped helping her last month as she finally found a job. Will they sto0 my benefits for this? She has offered to pay me bk a bit each month if I want it.

£50 a month would be £600 over a year. There's no process in place to declare something like this to UC. As Kimi says it won't cause any issues and definitely won't stop your benefits.

I worked it out again and from last may till this March it was £1368. But she has offered to pay it bk now she's working. Ive never had any savings whilst claiming uc.

That still won't cause any problems. There's nothing to be gained from having it paid back with regards to UC. If she does pay it back now then that will be classed as savings, but as it'll be under £6k it still won't make any difference.

They might ask you to confirm who the money was paid to and why, but you haven't done anything wrong by helping your daughter out, so just tell them that if they do ask.
