Hi, can anyone help please. I am appointee for our son and this has shown up on his NHS app. As far as we are aware he is already in the ESA support group and has been since 2017 with his last review in 2019. The letter states his WCA as of 2nd December 2024. We have not had any letters about a review or anything else apart from his last benefit award/uprating letter for 2025 in March 2025 the one you get every year with the new rates on. The last letter had a breakdown of his entitlement and stated support group. However I am really concerned that this letter on his medical record states work related activity group/support group. I am confused as I thought you could only be in one or the other. Can anyone let me know what this could mean as we have not been asked to fill any review forms out and he has yet to get his migration letter for Universal Credit. Many thanks.

    Hello @NeuroEve

This is not a situation I have come across before. If your son has continued to receive his usual money from ESA I would lean towards saying there is no cause for concern. It may be worth you contacting ESA when they reopen on Tuesday to clarify his award.

Have you been handing fit notes in still or receiving them from your son's GP at all?

Thanks, he hasn't had to hand fit notes in since 2017 when he was put in support group. He had a reassessment in 2019 and continued in support group. I have also had his letter in March with the new rates on which also states support group. Like you said I don't think it's anything to be concerned about I just wasn't sure if anyone else had had this happen.
