ESA to UC confusion

I migrated from ESA support group to UC 2 weeks ago. I just received a letter from ESA dated 2 days after I submitted the UC form saying 'We have looked at your claim again following a recent change'. The only change is that I migrated to UC.

Letter says I will continue receiving IR ESA at the same rate & they used a tax year from 15 years ago. I'm confused. I'm guessing this is an automated letter, but I would like to know if anyone else has had this.

Also, should I call ESA on Tues to tell them I have migrated to uc, although I thought UC would have done this. Or should I call the CAB help to claim line as they helped me complete UC form. TIA

In my recent experience with migrating to income related ESA . I had to call them because I myself had the very same letter ending up with 2 overpayments because ESA hadn't been stopped when they should have . So if you you call them tell them the exact date you migrated and that your ir ESA should be stopped also staying the letter you received because in hindsight you shouldn't have received that letter .they should then stop that for you whilst on the phone. the problem is UC don't always communicate with each other. ESA hadn't a clue I had migrated. I wouldn't want you to have these overpayments as I did because the would deduct some out of your UC each month to pay these overpayments back I hope this helps and good luck 🙂

Thanks for taking the time to reassure me while you're in hospital.

I got the 2 week roll on of ESA payment yesterday, along with the letter. I'll call ESA on Tues morning before my hospital appt to tell them the date I migrated to ESA.

I don't want to have to pay back any overpayments. Hopefully I'll get through to someone quickly and it'll be sorted straightaway.

Hope you're okay too. Thanks again.
