UC with New Style ESA and Council Tax Support
Hello,
I would like to ask do DWP tell Council that you also receive NS ESA as well as UC. When I got letter from Council it said " Your Council tax support has been suspended. When I hear from UC I will reinstate it when they tell me your UC award. Do they also tell them about any other benefit or will I have to tell them myself? I keep getting all these new things to think about.

Will Council get notified about NS ESA as well. I don't want an incorrect CT bill. Thank You

Hi @Silver925
No, the DWP doesn't always automatically tell the Council about New Style ESA as they usually only share UC details. It's best to tell the council yourself about your NS ESA to make sure your Council Tax is the right amount😊0 -
So if New style ESA is deducted pound for pound from your Universal Credit is Universal Credit only giving council tax the universal credit amount after deducting the ESA?

I just tried council, UC helpline NS ESA which just knocked me off the line, so I sent a CTS change of circumstances form explaining my NS ESA so they can just it themselves.
