Hi, my name is jdo! Haven't had PIP change of circumstance backdated, is this right?

I reported a change in Feb and my award has been updated today by email but I first reported it in February by phone. I have not had the new amount backdated to the reported date of change as my first payment only includes the uplift from the day they informed me that I was entitled to a higher amount. Is this correct.

Which benefit are you talking about?

PIP I was awarded the higher rate on Daily living and informed by email. Called the pip line to check the change and when it will be paid. It has paid me the higher rate for my next payday but no arrears from when I first informed them of the change in circumstance. Is this correct.

The higher rate should apply from the date you notified them of the change.
Any backpay is calculated separately from your monthly payment.
Hopefully you hear something soon.

@jdo I got my back dated money for a Change in Circumstances, but it was years ago. Hopefully you will receive it shortly.
