Housing benifit

I've talked about how I received my Universal credit call up. Want I want to know is if my rent will still be paid to my housing company still?
I got told I might lose my flat and have to move back in with my mum which would be a horrible nightmare, as I hear Universal Credit drives people into poverty.
Can you advise please?

I don't know who you are hearing these things from!
Yes you will get help with rent under UC, known as Housing Element.
You can request Housing Element is paid directly to your Landlord also.

You won't be paying Housing Benefit, you will be paying Housing Element (Universal Credit).
If you want to pay your landlord yourself then the Housing Element can be paid to you.
It's your choice.
